What Is a Glass Facade System?
A glass facade consists of aluminum profiles mounted on the building's load-bearing structure and glass panels fixed to these profiles. The system does not carry the building's load; it is designed only to bear its own weight and wind load. This is why it is called a "curtain wall" — the building is essentially clad in glass. It stands out in modern architecture as both an aesthetic and functional solution.
Types of Glass Facade Systems
Classic Capped (Stick) System
Aluminum carriers are joined vertically and horizontally, and glass is fixed from outside with a cap profile. The most common and economical facade system.
Spider System
Glass is fixed point-by-point with stainless steel connectors. It provides a frameless, transparent and modern look; ideal for store windows and entrance halls.
Advantages of a Glass Facade
- Abundant natural light enters the building, reducing lighting costs
- Provides a modern and prestigious exterior
- Energy efficiency increases with insulated systems
- Safety and durability are top-level with tempered/laminated glass
Glass Facade Prices
The price depends on facade area (m²), system type (capped or spider), glass type (insulated, tempered, laminated) and building height. For a precise quote, request a free survey; we inspect the facade on site and provide an exact quote.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a glass facade provide heat insulation?
When insulated aluminum carriers and insulated glass are used, a glass facade provides good insulation. Choosing Low-E coated glass adds solar heat control.
Is a glass facade safe on high-rise buildings?
Yes. Tempered and laminated safety glass is selected through static calculation according to wind load. A properly produced system is used safely on high floors.
